In Ank Jyotish (Vedic Numerology), certain combinations of numbers create what is known as a Raj Yog; a powerful numerical alignment similar but different from the one in astrology that elevates an individual toward authority, wealth, influence, leadership, and recognition.

Raj means “king,” while Yog means “union” or “combination.” Together, the expression Raj Yog represents a combination of energies in a chart that reflects someone who rises above ordinary circumstances and creates an exceptional life.

In astrology, Raj Yog is formed through planetary combinations in a birth chart;; Ank Jyotish identifies these fortunate alignments through the vibration of numbers found in your birth date.

It is important to understand that Raj Yog does not guarantee instant wealth or success. Instead, it provides greater opportunities, stronger leadership qualities, and the ability to attract influential people and favourable circumstances, provided the individual acts with discipline and purpose.

How is Raj Yog created in Numerology?

Every number has a planetary ruler:

  • 1/Sun: Leadership, authority, confidence

  • 2/Moon: Intuition, emotions, diplomacy

  • 3/Jupiter: Wisdom, expansion, prosperity

  • 4/Rahu: Innovation, unconventional success, obsessive focus

  • 5/Mercury: Communication, business, intelligence, commerce

  • 6/Venus: Luxury, relationships, creativity, diplomacy

  • 7/Ketu: Spirituality, research, inner wisdom, analysis

  • 8/Saturn: Discipline, karma, long-term wealth, materialism

  • 9/Mars: Courage, ambition, action, aggressiveness

Raj Yog occurs when these planetary energies work together rather than against each other.

The strongest Raj Yogs typically involve combinations of the Sun, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and Saturn, creating a balance between leadership, wisdom, wealth, communication, and steadfastness.

Common Raj Yog Numbers

Number 1: The King’s Number

Ruled by the Sun, the number 1 naturally carries royal energy. People strongly influenced by the Sun often become:

  • CEOs

  • Entrepreneurs

  • Political leaders

  • Public figures

  • Decision-makers

When supported by favourable numbers, the Sun creates tremendous confidence and visibility.

Number 3 – The Guru’s Blessing

Jupiter represents wisdom, abundance, and divine protection. Strong Jupiter energy often brings:

  • Monetary growth

  • Respected status

  • Teaching ability

  • Ethical leadership

  • Good fortune

Many successful mentors, coaches, and business owners possess prominent Jupiter vibrations.

Number 5 – The Business Multiplier

Mercury governs commerce, communication, negotiation, and adaptability. This vibration shines in:

Sales

  • Marketing

  • Investing

  • Technology

  • Social media

  • Entrepreneurship

A strong Mercury number helps opportunities arrive quickly through networking and intelligent decision-making.

Number 6 – The Wealth Magnet

Venus governs luxury, beauty, attraction, and material prosperity. Its gifts include:

  • Financial abundance

  • Creative talent

  • Personal magnetism

  • Relationship success

  • High-value clientele

Venus often appears prominently in the charts of artists, influencers, luxury brand owners, and entrepreneurs.

Number 8 – The Emperor’s Number

Although Saturn is frequently feared, it is one of the greatest Raj Yog planets. Saturn rewards:

  • Consistency

  • Hard work

  • Integrity

  • Responsibility

  • Long-term vision

People with a strong number 8 often experience delayed success, but when success arrives, it tends to be substantial and enduring.

Powerful Raj Yog Combinations

Certain numerical combinations create exceptionally strong leadership and prosperity.

1 + 3 (Sun + Jupiter)

This is one of the most respected combinations. It blends authority with wisdom. Common traits include:

  • Natural leadership

  • Respect from others

  • Strong decision-making

  • Public recognition

  • Business success

1 + 5 (Sun + Mercury)

Often called the Business Leader combination. It combines confidence with communication. These individuals excel in:

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Sales

  • Public speakingMarketing

  • Brand building

3 + 6 (Jupiter + Venus)

A beautiful balance of abundance and attraction. This combination supports:

  • Wealth creation

  • Luxury businesses

  • Coaching

  • Education

  • Creative industries

5 + 8 (Mercury + Saturn)

One of the strongest combinations for enduring business success.

  • Mercury creates opportunities.

  • Saturn builds empires.

  • Together they reward patience, intelligent systems, and disciplined execution.

1 + 8 (Sun + Saturn)

Although these planets traditionally oppose one another, when balanced they produce exceptional executive ability. Many CEOs, government officials, and business leaders possess this combination because it blends authority with responsibility.

Compound Numbers and Raj Yog

Certain compound numbers are considered especially fortunate in Ank Jyotish. While Vedic numerology revolves around single digits, I came to Ank Jyotish from Chaldean Numerology, which uses two-digit numbers. This is not considered traditional in Ank Jyotish, but I know from decades of experience that a 51/6 and a 42/6 are not the same 6. Examples include:

  • 19/1 – Victory after struggle. Tarot equivalent: The Sun

  • 23/5 – The Royal Star of the Lion. Tarot equivalent: King of Wands

  • 32/5 – Communication that attracts wealth. Tarot equivalent: 6 of Wands

  • 37/1 – Wisdom of letting go leading to prosperity. Tarot equivalent: King of Cups

  • 41/5 – Independent leadership. Tarot equivalent: Ace of Cups

  • 46/1 – Developing lasting wealth. Tarot equivalent: 6 of Cups

  • 51/6 – Intelligence combined with opportunity. Tarot equivalent: King of Swords

  • 65/11 - Intelligence combines with stable investment strategies. Tarot equivalent: King of Pentacles

These numbers frequently appear in the charts of successful entrepreneurs, public figures, and influential leaders.

Karmic Numbers and Raj Yog

Karmic numbers are not popular with most people because they carry a certain amount of notoriety. Too many social media talking heads have created anxiety by sensationalizing the shadow portions of these numbers. That is a shame because these numbers recur with extreme consistency in the birth dates of billionaires, inventors, artists, musicians, and many other people who become wealthy and successful across a variety of fields. They are:

  • 13/4: People with this number in their charts tend to know frequent reinventions and lots of change. Tarot equivalent: Death

  • 14/5: People with this number in their charts need to learn to keep busy and avoid taking on extremist views. Tarot equivalent: Temperance

  • 16/7: People with this number in their charts know upheaval. They function best right in the middle of the shitpot, giving it a big ol’ stir. Tarot equivalent: The Tower

  • 19/1: People with this number are natural leaders, but they need to learn that their lives must be transparent. Tarot equivalent: The Sun

Can Everyone Have Raj Yog?

Many people can, but not everyone will. Some people are born with naturally strong Raj Yog combinations. The various name placements can provide what I refer to as “low calorie” yogas because names must be used diligently once they are chosen, in order to benefit from their energies. Dashas can also create temporary yogas that observant individuals can take advantage of. Others develop them through:

  • Name correction: When overlaid on the Ank, the name placements can create strong yogas, as long as this is the name being used publicly.

  • Signature alignment: If you choose a public name specifically to create certain energies in your chart — regardless of the system of numerology you are choosing to operate with — you have to align your signature with this name. Sign all of your documentation with it, and when possible, change ID’s to reflect this new signature.

  • Business name selection or launch date: You can consciously choose success vibrations for your business through the launch date and the public-facing name.

  • Living in harmony with your strongest numbers: Learn to accept the numbers in your chart, because, Raj Yog or not, there are no bad numbers.

  • Embrace Soul Quality Development: The numbers missing from your chart are as important as the ones that are there. They may reflect things that feel difficult to lean into, but often, they represent the things we most need to do.

Ank Jyotish teaches that while destiny provides opportunities, conscious action determines the outcome.

How to Activate Your Raj Yog

It isn’t enough just to have a certain yoga in your chart. As I tell my clients during their readings, “If you stay at home sitting on the couch in your underwear, eating chips and watching TV, nothing happens.” Raj Yog becomes stronger when you regularly align your efforts with your dominant numerical energy.

For example:

  • A strong Sun person should build a founder-led brand and be the public face of their business.

  • A strong Mercury person should improve their professional network and use their natural attraction to the new and unique among market trends, platforms, and communication.

  • A strong Jupiter person should build mission branding and consult or teach difficult ideas they understand to others.

  • A strong Venus person should create community and leverage strategic relationships.

  • A strong Saturn person should play the long game and embrace deliberate risk-taking.

When your actions mirror your strongest planetary vibration, opportunities begin to show up naturally.

Raj Yog Is Potential, Not Permission to Wait

Many people search for Raj Yog, hoping it will guarantee wealth. In reality, Raj Yog represents potential:

  • It opens gateways.

  • It creates opportunities.

  • It attracts mentors.

  • It increases visibility.

Remember what I said above about sitting in the living room waiting for life to happen? Stable success comes from consistent effort, wise decision-making, and disciplined action. Very few of us ever have something just fall into our laps with no effort on our part — and those who do receive such a boon from the universe frequently don’t know how to manage it and POOF — it goes away or goes sideways.

Even the strongest Raj Yog cannot replace focused action. Likewise, someone without a classical Raj Yog can still achieve extraordinary success through persistence, learning, and attunement with their natural strengths. The people who are successful are the ones who keep showing up, even when it’s the hardest thing to do that day. The greatest lesson of Ank Jyotish is that numbers reveal your blueprint—but your choices determine how fully you live it.

When you understand your numbers, you stop fighting your nature and begin working with it.
